CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Grammy-nominated rock band Matchbox Twenty has a new album coming out this spring, and will celebrate with a 53-city tour that includes a stop in Cuyahoga Falls.
The group will perform at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls on June 13, just over two weeks after the planned release of "Where the Light Goes." Tickets are currently on sale, with seats starting at $22.
Still made up of four of their five founding members including lead vocalist Rob Thomas, Matchbox Twenty has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and was one of the most popular rock bands of the late 1990s and 2000s. Their song "Bent" charted as high as No. 1 in the United States, with other hits including "Unwell," "If You're Gone," and "How Far We've Come."
"Where the Light Goes" will be Matchbox Twenty's first new album since the release of "North" back in 2012. While the full record won't be out until May 26, the group has already offered a preview with the featured single "Wild Dogs (Running in a Slow Dream)."
The Blossom show starts at 7:30 p.m. and will also feature special guest Matt Nathanson. The folk rock singer has several hits to his own credit, including the multi-platinum selling "Come On Get Higher."
Besides Cuyahoga Falls, Matchbox Twenty will also perform at Cincinnati's Riverbend Music Center on June 16 and the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater on Aug. 4, with the latter show featuring Ben Rector instead of Nathanson. The tour itself kicks off May 16 in Vancouver.
