Museum to showcase Play it Loud exhibit and feature live music and giveaways

CLEVELAND — Fresh off the opening of their largest exhibit ever, "Play it Loud: Instruments of Rock and Roll," the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is going to keep their doors open a little longer for the Thanksgiving weekend and reward visitors with giveaways and games.

The Rock Hall will be closed Thanksgiving Day but fans wanting to check out the new exhibit featuring over 120 iconic instruments can enjoy extended hours on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST.  While there, visitors can enjoy holiday jams and giveaways at 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.  You can enter to win on level 0 of the museum. There will also be opportunities to win prizes during Rock Hall themed game shows.

Giveaways and prizes include:

  • Tickets for 2020 Induction Red Carpet, Watch Party and Ceremony experiences
  • Guitars
  • Gift cards
  • Museum tickets
  • Merchandise
  • Memberships
  • And more!

The Rock Hall is also giving fans a free digital photo from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, November 29. It's the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family for a special holiday photo on the plaza at the Long Live Rock letters.

Visitors to the museum this weekend will be among the first to experience the Rock Hall’s newest exhibit, "Play It Loud: Instruments of Rock & Roll," co-organized with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s the only time these iconic items will be together in one massive collection. You can also grab your family and friends for holiday music jams and singalongs in "The Garage," the Rock Hall’s newest interactive experience, and check out great holiday themed artifacts such as a hand-crafted Christmas card made by a young Jim Morrison and given to his parents which reads, “This is all I could afford,” followed by, “You better get me something.”

Keeping with the holiday spirit, the Rock Hall will have festive food and drink specials, curated Inductee holiday playlists (also available on the Rock Hall’s Spotify page), holiday décor, and special holiday themed programing through the end of the year.

And if you're looking for a unique gift for the music lover in your life, you can take advantage of special offers while you shop. Visit the Rock Hall’s Museum store in person (no ticket required) or website for Black Friday deals and a wide selection of items from clothing, books, jewelry and cookware to collectables, ornaments, and more.  Rock Hall membership packages are also available.
