Earlier today, the Rock Hall announced the latest class of musicians who will be taking their place among rock and roll's greats in what will be a star-studded affair next spring.
The seven inductees soon to be cemented in music history at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 are…
- Def Leppard
- Stevie Nicks
- The Cure
- Janet Jackson
- Radiohead
- Roxy Music
- The Zombies
We caught up with a couple members of the class of 2019 to get their reactions to the news.
If there ever was a band where the stars aligned perfectly for their induction in 2019, it would be The Zombies. Singer and vocalist Rod Argent told us over the phone that the date of the ceremony, March 29, 2019, comes 50 years to the day after their hit "Time of the Season" topped the charts.
Also, the band played their first American concert at the Fox Theater in Brooklyn. Now they'll be coming back for the Induction ceremony at the Barclays Center, which also happens to be in Brooklyn.
We also caught up with The Cure keyboardist Roger O'Donnell via FaceTime. O'Donnell says getting the news that he and his bandmates were going to be inducted into the Rock Hall was like "Christmas came early."
