CLEVELAND — Attention high school singers! Shining Star CLE 2023 is back!
But the deadline to enter is coming fast!
The program benefits memory care programs at Menorah Park and the Menorah Park Foundation will produce the sixth annual Shining Star CLE, solo-singing competition.
The live show will take place Sunday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the Mimi Ohio Theater at Playhouse Square.
Virtual auditions end FRIDAY June 30th 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
High school students in grades 9 – 12 (as of August 2023) are eligible to enter from the following counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit or Wayne counties (home schooled as well).
All genres of music are accepted. A total of $21,000 in prizes will be awarded including a $10,000 First place scholarship prize.
NEW FOR 2023:
In order to avoid repetition, the top ten finalist songs from the previous year are excluded from the current competition. Please do not plan on singing any of the following songs from last year's show.

- Hopelessly Devoted to You (Grease).
The contest is judged by celebrities with connections to music and entertainment industries as well as the audience.
Local musician and WKYC Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins returns as host.
