The stage is set at Playhouse Square's Mimi Ohio Theatre for ten high school finalists to sing their hearts out for a chance to win up to a $10,000 college scholarship.
The sixth annual Shining Star CLE competition is back live after two years of virtual performances. The show takes place Sunday, September 11th at 7pm and tickets are still available. 3News' Monica Robins will serve as the emcee and will also perform during the show.
Shining Star CLE works to celebrate the up-and-coming singing talent of Northeast Ohio while bringing strong voices to the need for funds that help create innovative programs and tools for people with memory loss through Menorah Park in Beachwood
The panel of judges have some impressive resumes. They pick the top four and then the audience chooses their top pick.
The Judges
Antonia Bennett, the legendary jazz singer who is sharing her near and dear commitment toward the cause as the daughter of Tony Bennett is new as a judge this year and she will also perform a special song.

Ben Fankhauser, a native of Orange, Ohio and the Broadway star known for performing in Newsies also joins the panel of judges this year.
Returning judges include Tony-award nominated producer Rashad Chambers.
Carl Topilow, renowned music director and conductor of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra.
And retiring president and CEO of Playhouse Square Gina Vernaci
Music and memory are connected and Shining Star CLE raises money for music therapy and memory care programs at Menorah Park.
