CLEVELAND — The daughter of Fuller House star Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli has posted her first YouTube video since her parents were accused of bribing officials at the University of Southern California to get her into the school.
Olivia Jade Giannulli, 20, shared the video on Sunday with the title "hi again."
In the video, she said she debated when to come back to her online life since her world turned upside down eight months ago.
Throughout the two-minute-long clip, Olivia Jade struggles to make the point that she can't talk about what's going on pertaining to her parents' legal troubles, without specifically mentioning her parents by name or explicitly referring to the criminal charges they face.
On social media, many were frustrated with the internet star, who has 1.94 million subscribers, rushing back into the limelight while she's "legally not allowed to speak on anything going on right now."
However, at least some gave her credit for trying to address the elephant in the room.
Twitter user @ochs45 wrote: "I’m not an Olivia Jade fan but to be fair if she just posted some random vlog or makeup tutorial you know that her comments would be flooded with questions so making a 2 min video saying she’s coming back but can’t talk the details is probably the best decision she could’ve made."
To date, her return video is performing on par with her uploads from before the scandal erupted. As of 3 P.M. Eastern on Monday, the "hi again" message had 1.6 million views and was the #1 trending video on YouTube.
Loughlin and Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 to have their two daughters falsely labeled as recruits to the USC crew team. They have pleaded not guilty.
Jade went silent on social media at the time and lost advertising deals that included cosmetics retailer Sephora and hair products company TRESemme.
