SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point has entered the golden era.
Earlier this month the Sandusky amusement park launched its Gold Pass option, which offers guests a season ticket for unlimited visits to Cedar Point and its water park for the rest of the 2019 season and all of 2020. The Gold Pass also includes free parking, discounts on food and merchandise and early entry into the parks.
The cost? Just $99.
But there has been one big question circulating on social media… How long will the Gold Pass pricing remain at $99 before Cedar Point increases the cost?
Some feared the increase would come Labor Day weekend. Others have speculated the spike in price may happen at the start of HalloWeekends.
But you’re in luck. The pricing will last through the rest of the 2019 operating season.
“Gold Pass pricing of $99 will be available through the end of HalloWeekends,” Cedar Point’s Tony Clark tells WKYC in an e-mail.
That means you are guaranteed to get the $99 price now through Sunday, Oct. 27.
“Just like other promotions and deals, I can’t confirm what [pricing] will be available beyond that, but the Gold Pass itself is not a limited-time product,” Clark added. “It will be available all the time going forward.”
Although you still have plenty of time to get the Gold Pass at the lowest rate, if you wait until the end of HalloWeekends you would lose the benefit of using the ticket to attend the park this year.
It comes as the park plans to celebrate their 150th anniversary in 2020. Although the park hasn’t confirmed many details yet, Cedar Point will introduce a reimagined river expedition ride in the spirit of the former Paddlewheel Excursions attraction.
Some of the other additions for 2020 include:
- A fully immersive nighttime celebration along the Main Midway
- New food options, including throwback menu items from previous seasons
- Nostalgic souvenirs and merchandise
- A re-imagined Town Hall in Frontier Town
