SANDUSKY, Ohio — Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…

Cedar Point is daring swimmers to dive in for a close encounter with sharks this weekend as the park kicks off the official start of summer.

Sounds intense, right? Don’t worry… There aren’t any real sharks in this experience.

Cedar Point Shores is transforming its wave pool into a giant “dive-in” movie theater Saturday night as guests float in the water to watch a double feature of 1975’s Jaws and 2018’s The Meg.

Although Cedar Point Shores offers various “dive-in” movies throughout the season, this weekend’s event is different because it’s entirely free and open to all guests with space limited on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Gates open at 8 p.m. after Cedar Point Shores closes its normal operations for the day.

If Jaws and The Meg are too scary for your little ones, Cedar Point is offering another free double feature “dive-in” movie Friday night with back-to-back screenings of Surf’s Up and Surf’s Up 2: Wave Mania.
