CLEVELAND — Wolf Pack Chorus is the latest restaurant bringing new life to the Murray Hill area in Little Italy on Cleveland's east side.
It's a real pack mentality at Wolf Pack Chorus, named after the term for a group of wolves howling together. The space is co-owned by Katie and Chris Wolf, with Chris serving as the chef behind all of the delicious dishes on the menu.
"Approachable fine dining can be tricky to accomplish," Katie told me. "We want a high level of service and care but at the same time we want our space be comfortable and somewhat casual. Date night? Yes. Casual drinks with friends? Absolutely. Do you just want to sit at the bar and order a beer and a burger? We have that on the menu too."
When Katie and Chef Chris found the space that would eventually become what they lovingly call your "favorite neighborhood den," they knew they needed to make it their own before welcoming in the lovers of Cleveland's restaurant scene.
"We gave everything a face lift, updating the décor to be elegant yet unexpected with bold patterns and colors but making sure to be welcoming to our guests," co-owner Katie Wolf told me.
"Everything in the space is thoughtful and intentional and we hope it is a warm and inviting room for our guests to enjoy."
That intentionality starts with the color choices in the Wolfs' escape from reality.
"What better way to have fun with bold wallpaper and bright colors than in a restaurant?" Katie asks. "Since the bones of the space are black and white, I wanted to warm it up by adding a large mural, gold tones and a few auspicious circles for luck.
"Chef and I are a bit quirky and I think the style of a modern brasserie allows him to shine as a chef."
With a constantly evolving menu, Chef Chris has plenty of opportunities to shine in the kitchen at Wolf Pack Chorus. The commitment to live entertainment also shines in the space.
"We hope our guests feel happy and fun vibes when they come through our doors," Katie said. "We want to be the place where everyone wants to be and have a good time. We will have live music most days, whether it's a jazz pianist, a bluegrass trio, a guitar singer/songwriter, or violinist that can play anything. We are now talking to a very talented saxophone player. Chef and I love live music, it brings soul to a space that can't be duplicated with Pandora."
