EASTLAKE, Ohio — In the final weeks of winter, any warm days across Ohio make us more excited that spring and summer are ahead. It's shocking how warm it feels on those days when it first hits 50 or 60 degrees, even just for a moment. Getting outside is so refreshing.
If you haven't been able to go outside, we're helping you step out the door with GO-HIO! Our 3News drone has been hard at work flying over a brown Ohio, which will soon turn green as the leaves bud on the trees. We visited the Eastlake area at Chagrin Harbor where the Chagrin River meets Lake Erie.
The solar angle continues to increase this time of year (how high the sun gets in the sky during the middle of the day). When the sun is higher in the sky, the amount of solar radiation (heat) we get increases. In fact in the month of March the maximum energy we get in a day increases by 21%. More energy from the sun means warmer days are on the way.
