NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — With over 100 miles of trails throughout the Cleveland Metroparks, it truly is one of the best ways to see Ohio's true beauty. And it doesn't get much better than the sights and sounds of the Rocky River Reservation.
The reservation is a perfect getaway without actually having to leave Northeast Ohio.
"You would never know that you're in Cleveland. When you get back in here, you'd think you're out in Montana or something," said frequent visitor Larry Boso. "It's a beautiful thing."
This stunning reservation follows the winding course of the Rocky River from Berea almost to Lake Erie, with plenty of picturesque views along the way.
One of the biggest advocates for the park is Cleveland Metroparks Naturalist Jen Brumfield.
"Rocky River (reservation) is the perfect spot," said Brumfield.
It offers the river, wetlands, forest and over 5 miles of multi-use trails.
Throughout the park, they have recorded over 280 species of birds and over 1,000 different species of trees and plants.
"Just an amazing variety of habitat," said Brumfield.
They also offer a nature center that is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
