CLEVELAND -- For the third consecutive year in a row, the Playhouse Square lead the country in season ticket holders with 32,000. This upcoming season, all season ticket holders and anyone else who enjoys theatre will have some good options.
Playhouse Square revealed its 2016-2017 KeyBank Broadway Series on Tuesday night.
The event included performances from "Finding Neverland" and "Fun Home," two of the shows coming to Cleveland in the Broadway series.
"Into the Woods," "Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I," "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," "Something Rotten!" and "An American in Paris" complete the series lineup.
"I'm excited to see what's on deck for next year and renew our tickets," said season ticket holder Jennifer Klika of Akron.
Grab your ticket and fill up Playhouse Square this year because there's a lot to see.
"I love theatre and I can't afford to go to New York all the time," said season ticket holder Bronwyn Craven. "They bring New York to us."
"We saw 'If Then' which was an awesome play," said season ticket holders Don and Nancy Hromulak of Richfield. "We saw 'Bullets Over Broadway' which is another wonderful play, so we've seen many wonderful things so we are looking forward to seeing what will come next season so we can get season tickets."
"So what's coming to town? This year’s Series will also be comprised of four additional Tony Award®-winning productions, including the enchanting INTO THE WOODS, with music and lyrics by the incomparable Stephen Sondheim, the beloved classic and 2015 Tony Award® winner for Best Revival of a Musical, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s THE KING AND I, the inspirational 2015 Tony Award® winner for Best Play, CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, and the irresistible and hilarious hit musical SOMETHING ROTTEN!
"I feel like a kid at Christmas," said Kilka.
Kilka was one of about 3,000 people filed into the Connor Palace Tuesday evening to be among the first in the country to hear the lineup of hit shows coming to Cleveland as part of Playhouse Square’s 2016-2017 KeyBank Broadway Series.
