Ranch cotton candy is now totally a thing at Kings Island

The Sweet Spot is going savory this season.

This was a meal fit for King.

We got a taste Tuesday of what new flavors are coming to the Mason amusement park this season.

The park will open for 2018 on April 14.

Here's a closer look – or bigger bite – at what you can look forward to then.

All of the blue ice cream

Kings Island knows what rules the menu here.

The iconic blue ice cream.

This summer, we can enjoy it in more ways. And we aren't just talking about what we can eat.

Look out for more ways to show your love for the blueberry ice cream that debuted in 1982. (It came to the park as part of the celebration of the Smurf’s Enchanted Voyage opening.)

You can snag a blue ice cream-themed visor or key chain. Or our personal favorite, a T-shirt declaring, "Peace, Love, and Blue Ice Cream."

Oh, and if you can't commit to a full blue ice cream cone, try a miniature version. Really, it's Smurf-sized.

And instead of ice cream? It's a blue ice cream-flavored mousse.

Or you can grab a cotton candy flavor called blue ice cream and waffle cone at the Sweet Spot. That will be the flavor of the week April 27.

Speaking of cotton candy ...

The Sweet Spot is going savory this season.

The shop will feature a new flavor every Tuesday, and they are getting creative.

There's ranch. And jalapeno. And onion.

Actually, all three of those together sounds good.

There will be the more traditional sweet flavors, too. Like dragon fruit, as well as red and black licorice.

So. much. meat.

We also got to tour of the biggest restaurant at the park. Oh, and it's the newest.

That's Coney Bar B Que. This fast-casual spot will offer smoked St. Louis-style ribs, pulled pork, rotisserie chicken and Queen City Sausage.

And some vegetables. But that's not why any of us are here, right?

It's in the Coney Mall area of the park, next to the Scrambler.

New head chef James Major, a two-time winner of the Food Network's "Chopped" reality TV cooking contest and contender on Alton Brown's "Cutthroat Kitchen," expects a lot of people.

He knows a thing or two feeding crowds: Major used to be the executive chef at Great American Ball Park.

So they will have some 60 chickens roasting at one time. That's 120 portions, by the way.

Meatapoolza continues outside of the new barbecue restaurant.

We also recommend checking out the turkey meatballs on a stick from Turkey Legs.

And one of Major's signatures, bacon on a stick.

He's been serving those up since he worked at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
