CLEVELAND — Two new cast members for the 48th season of Saturday Night Live are coming to the show with Northeast Ohio connections.
SNL announced on Thursday via Twitter that Marcello Hernandez and Molly Kearney have been added to the show's cast, as well as Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker.
Marcello Hernandez
Hernandez graduated from Northeast Ohio's John Carroll University (JCU) in 2019 from the Tim Russert Department of Communication.
During his time at JCU, Hernandez was a member of the men's soccer team and created his own comedy show on campus, "Marcello Live."
Since graduating from John Carroll, the Florida native has continued to pursue his dreams of becoming a comedian. He was selected as Just for Laughs New Face of Comedy in 2022.
Molly Kearney
Kearney, a Cleveland native and Magnificat High School graduate becomes the first nonbinary cast member to join Saturday Night Live. Kearney uses gender-neutral pronouns, they/them.
They have appeared in Amazon's A League of Their Own and The Mighty Ducks on Disney+. In 2019, they were chosen for Comedy Central's Up Next showcase.
In 2022, SNL won the 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. The season premiere of SNL will air on Saturday, Oct. 1 on NBC and will be streamed live on Peacock.
