For many women, and men who are in a relationship where they are enduring domestic violence, physical or mental, it can feel like there is no way out. But here in Northeast Ohio, we’re very lucky because we have the Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center - and they are here to offer you help. Hollie sat down with Operating Officer, Leslie Quilty, and Multicultural Services & Education Manager, Carrie Joseph, to talk about how the center helps those in harmful situations.
Here are the questions Hollie asked:
Leslie for those who may not know, tell us about the Center for Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy and what services you offer?
What kinds of situations to help you people extricate themselves from?
Why do people stay in violent situations?
How important is it for them to feel supported as they try to leave?
Talk about Templum House and what it offers?
What is your Justice System Advocacy program?
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, correct? Talk about your child advocacy side of your work & how you help children!
What advice do you have for someone who may have a family member caught in a violent relationship - how do you help that person?
You also have an event coming up in May?!
