Mike Olszewski & Superhost Marty Sullivan– “Tales of the Golden Age of Cleveland’s Television”

Reminisce about some favorite Cleveland television hosts in this new book!

Captain Penny, Barnaby, Miss Barbara – if you are of a certain age, these and other TV hosts filled your childhood! Mike Olszewski has written a book just for you – “From Captain Penny to Superhost: Tales of the Golden Age of Cleveland’s Television (1950s to 1970s).” Mike was in studio and he brought along one of these famous TV personalities – Superhost! Also known as Marty Sullivan.

Here are the questions Joe asked Mike and Marty:
We’ll talk about the book in a minute, but first, Marty – how did you become Superhost?
Was it meant to be a kids’ show? Lots of families watched it.
What is it like meeting fans today from back then?
Mike – these hosts didn’t have special effects, they had simple sets – how and why did these shows work?
What’s the importance of those early local kid show hosts?
Why don’t we have them today?
