New book reminisces on backstage stories from Cleveland's music scene

But before Live Nation became a household name, there was Belkin Productions.

Northeast Ohio is known for bringing top acts to the area.

But before Live Nation became a household name, there was Belkin Productions.

On Thursday’s Donovan Live, Jimmy sat down with Fran Belkin, the woman behind the scenes.

For thirty years, her husband Jules and her brother Mike ran a thriving production company.

Throughout the years, Fran collected memorabilia from the countless acts that Belkin Productions brought to the area. These weren’t just merch t-shirts that fans could buy, they were limited edition swag created solely for the acts.

When the business sold, Fran’s collection ended up in storage.

It wasn’t until recently that she got the idea to unravel 30 years of Cleveland Rock and Roll History with a book.

Rock this Town!. In 144 pages, you see the t-shirts “woven together with vintage snapshots, concert photography and backstage memories to paint a picture of the times, the music, the bands and the Belkin company.”
