Sherwin-Williams Women’s Club still going strong after 108 years

The Women’s Club was formed in 1911 and since, the club works to make a positive difference in Cleveland.

It was in 1911, before women could even vote, that the Sherwin-Williams Women’s club met for the first time.

Their meeting place? A restroom. Just a year later, the 25-member club worked on its first philanthropic project.

Those efforts continue today, and the club now has hundreds of members who work at Sherwin-Williams, whose global headquarters is in Cleveland.

Megan Bernard and Andria Adya talked about the club and its mission on Donovan Live with Jim Donovan. You can watch that interview in the player above.

On June 15, the women’s club will present the eighth annual Running with a Mission 5K benefiting Laura’s Home, a women’s crisis center in Cleveland, and a ministry of The City Mission. It’s at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. and a 1-mile walk steps off at 9 a.m. WKYC’s Maureen Kyle is the emcee.
