CLEVELAND — Engage! Cleveland is celebrating its 10th annual Young Professionals Week from June 10-17. The weeklong celebration will feature more than 25 events and programs, from yoga and self-defense classes to lunches with leaders and a behind-the-scenes tour of Browns Stadium.
Local businesses, nonprofits, places, and activities will all be showcased during the week's wide-ranging list of events. The purpose is to encourage young professionals to fall in love with and live in Cleveland, Engage! Cleveland President Ashley Basile Oeken said during an interview on WKYC Studios' community show "We the People."
"It's a great opportunity to first and foremost see the community, meet people in the community, and really get connected," Basile Oeken told 3News' Kierra Cotton. "Beyond that, there is great opportunity for professional development, hearing from speakers, hearing how they got to the places that they are, as well as networking. It's a great way to meet new people."
Engage! Cleveland is a community engagement organization focused on making Cleveland a top destination for young and emerging talent and professional leaders. Some of the events offered during the weeklong program include a Women in Leadership Panel on Friday, June 16, at noon, moderated by 3News anchor and reporter Isabel Lawrence.
There will also be an opportunity for people to get professional headshots on June 12 at 2 p.m. along with a happy hour on the Goodtime III on June 16 at 5:45 pm. For a full list of events taking place during Engage! Cleveland's 10th Young Professional Week, click here.
"Our 10th anniversary is called 'Only in the C-L-E,' Basile Oeke said. "All of the programs, events, places that we are going to are things you can only find here in Cleveland, so it's really exciting to show our community off."
