72-hour photo scavenger hunt supports local businesses in Beachwood, surrounding cities

All you need is some creativity, a team, a cell phone and be eager to race against other teams!

BEACHWOOD, Ohio — If you are looking to get outside, snap some pictures, support local businesses, and want to win some cash… heads up!

The Beachwood Chamber of Commerce is hosting a virtual photo scavenger hunt to celebrate 30 years in business, ahead of its anniversary on July 13.

All you need is some creativity, a team, a cell phone and be eager to race against other teams!

So how does it work?

"You're given 30 missions or clues that you have to solve and submit a photo of an answer to that clue,” says Lilia Lipps, marketing manager for the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce. "Anybody who sponsored the event, they get to write a clue that highlights their specific business. So those clues or missions will be driving people either to their brick-and-mortar locations or online."

Just download the free app that is available on iOS and Android called “GooseChase,” take pictures of the answers you find from the clues, and submit them through the app.

Those pictures will then go directly to the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce for review.

Participants will need a group made up of four people to go around the city searching for clues that local businesses have come up with. Once you find the answers, you take the picture and upload it to the app.

The scavenger hunt is active for 72 hours, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 29 ending on Sunday, May 2.

There are three slots for winners who end up with the most pictures taken out of 30.

First place takes home $150, second place $100, and third place $50.

Registration is $50 and all that money goes right back into the city to help with fundraising and community efforts.

You can register at any time, but remember, the sooner you wait to register after the event begins, the less time you will have to look for the clues and find the answers!

You can sign up and register here.

The following businesses are sponsoring the scavenger hunt:

  • Crestmont Automotive Group
  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • Acumen MB, LLC
  • Fit Learning
  • BOMBA Taco + Bar
