Scandal continues to flourish in the college admissions scandal that shocked the world in 2019. Actress Lori Loughlin has been at the center of it after it was reported that Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly paid to have their daughter admitted to the University of Southern California (USC) as a member of the rowing team.
Late last week the Department of Justice released the fabricated document supposedly showing Olivia Jade's history as a rower.
Loughlin is accused of paying $500,000 to get her daughters into USC.
The 92 Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles last night, and the night was filled with shocking and notable moments.
Eminem made a surprise appearance last night to perform his Oscar winning song "Lose Yourself" from 8 Mile. The room jammed out to the classic rap but not without first showing their confusion over the whole situation. Several of the performance's best reactions have now become memes. It was later announced that it has been 17 years since the song won its' Academy Award.
Parasite took home the award for best picture last night, making it the first non-english film to ever win in this category. Director Bong Joon-Ho also won the Oscar for best director.
Brad Pitt made his own little piece of history last night as well after he won his first award for acting in his entire career. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor gave a teary acceptance speech about his rise to fame in Hollywood.
University of Akron alum Matthew A Cherry won best animated short for his film "Hair Love," which highlights the importance of embracing and loving hair for it's natural beauty. Cherry also sent a quick shout out to the Crown Act in California which banned discrimination based on hair.
Also out of Ohio, the Obama produced documentary "American Factory" took home the Oscar for best documentary. The film follows the events after a Chinese company takes over an abandoned General Motors plant in Dayton. During the acceptance speech, producer Julia Reichert even sent a little home to her home state, yelling "go buckeyes!"
What's New discovered six-year-old Leo Kelly, aka The Shirley Temple King, last week during "Worth the Watch," and he is making his way up in the world.
