CLEVELAND — In Thursday's Pop Break on What's New, Vanessa Bryant opens up on social media regarding the death of her husband Kobe Bryant and their daughter, Gianna, the NFL announces a tribute to NBA star during the Super Bowl and Popeye's is trolling Beyonce's Ivy Park active wear collaboration with Adidas.
Plus, Billie Eilish just announced that she will be performing live at the Academy Awards next weekend during the 92 annual ceremony on February 9.
The singer made the announcement via Twitter, but has yet to release any information on what exactly she'll be performing.
This announcement comes off of last week's Grammy's in which the 18-year-old took home five statues throughout the night. Eilish also recently became the youngest performer to sing and write a James Bond theme song.
Beyonce may have just released her new active wear line with Adidas last week, but it didn't take long for the internet to notice that many of the pieces look similar to Popeye's uniforms. The famous chicken restaurant also didn't take long to notice, or respond, releasing their own clothing line called "That Look From Popeye's" just days after. The line parodies Ivy Park in everything from the look, the models, and the promotional photos, and has since sold out completely. All of the proceeds from "That Look from Popeye's" will benefit The Popeye's Foundation.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell confirmed this week that the NFL plans to honor Kobe Bryant during this weekend's Super Bowl game in Miami. No confirmation yet as to how they plan to honor him. The game, played between The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will air on Sunday, February 2 at 6:30 p.m. eastern.
Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa has finally made a statement after the death of her husband and her daughter Gianna. Vanessa posted a photo of Kobe of their family along with a message thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and detailing their devastation during this time, "there arent enough words to describe our pain right now. I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved." Vanessa also said, "to honor our Team Mamba family, the Mamba sports foundation has set up the Mamba on Three fund to help support the other families affected by this tragedy."
