Promises in the Park: Local couples wed for free thanks to Summit County Probate Court and Summit Metro Parks

Several couples were able to tie-the-knot in the beautiful weather on Friday

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — It was a beautiful day to have a wedding, and that's precisely what several Summit County couples did.

Thanks to the Summit County Probate Court and Summit Metro Parks, residents were able to register for a socially-distanced wedding in the park on Friday, as part of the second annual "Promises in the Park," program.

The program gave couples the chance to celebrate a special day, while still adhering to COVID-19 protocols.

Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer officiated the weddings throughout the day.

All guests were required to wear masks, and only the couples were able to remove their face covering during the ceremony while staying physically distanced from other couples and guests. Due to COVID restrictions couples were limited to 4 guests each.

Music was provided by a local cellist prior to the ceremonies and each couple received a sapling from the Parks to plant in honor of their wedding.
