3News' Danita Harris and Dave Chudowsky to be featured on 'Kelly Clarkson Show' Monday

Danita and Dave appear on the show to help Clarkson surprise a local nonprofit.

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — This is so cool!

3News’ Danita Harris and Dave Chudowsky will both be featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show in a new episode that’s set to air on WKYC at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8.

It’s part of the show’s Good Neighbor segment where Clarkson highlights and recognizes people and organizations that are making a difference in their community.

While we don’t want to give away all the details just yet, we can tell you that Danita traveled to New York City last month to record the segment with Clarkson. Dave, meanwhile, joined the show from the local nonprofit for a special surprise.

Clarkson told Danita in a one-on-one interview that Good Neighbor is her favorite segment from the show.

“I love the fact that we’re highlighting not just the things going wrong in life, but the people that are really doing something cool and innovative and something that can really change the community,” Clarkson said. “If everybody focused on their community, it could then Domino effect and change everyone. It really, selfishly, makes me feel better -- like happy and hopeful. Sometimes there’s not a lot of hope out there -- sometimes -- so it’s nice to see that light, right?”

And if you haven’t heard, Clarkson is also hosting the Opening Ceremony for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. So we were curious… Which sport would she try if able to compete in the Olympics?

“First of all, it would not look good for Team USA,” Clarkson said. “No matter what sport. Put singing in there? I didn’t know archery was in the Olympics until a few years ago. I was like, ‘What?!?!’ So I would want to be Katniss. I’d want to do archery. I’ve done archery before, actually, a couple of times. I’m not bad.”

During her visit to New York City, you may also remember that Danita stopped by the TODAY show where she and 3News' Isabel Lawrence got a special nationwide shout out from our friend -- and former WKYC employee -- Al Roker. Check it out below...
