CLEVELAND — It’s Thanksgiving Eve, and on this edition of "On the GO!," the morning team helps you prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving.
3News’ newest meteorologist, Matt Standridge, made his debut on "GO!" this morning filling in for Hollie Strano, who had the day off.
“I was so nervous about missing my alarm that I’m not sure if I fell asleep,” says Matt, a newlywed who is spending his first Thanksgiving here in Cleveland. “This is our first Thanksgiving kind of just doing it us two, that means we have to do all the cooking.”
Morning show co-anchor Maureen Kyle was there to help Matt with dessert. She shared tips on making cheesecake as individual servings.
“It’s a good reminder too if you are going to have mom and dad over … the more individual serving type of things, the better.”
That’s because the CDC is recommending, among other guidance, that those hosting Thanksgiving gatherings with members outside of their household should employ single-use options or identify one person to serve sharable items. Also, instead of a potluck, the CDC encourages everyone to have their own drinks and food.
And although Thanksgiving and holiday celebrations are going to look different this year for many families, Cleveland’s Winterfest celebration is still taking place this year.
There won’t be a big party in Public Square but WKYC is excited to announce that morning reporter Jasmine Monroe is hosting this year’s televised event, which will air on WKYC, Saturday, November 28 at 7:00 p.m.
