A heartbreaking animation lets viewers relive the Titanic’s final hours before it sinks to the ocean floor.

In a detailed 2-hour, 40-minute video, viewers can hear crew members as they spot the iceberg, and try in vain to avoid it. Throughout the video, text overlay describes pivotal moments like issues with lowering life boats and officers being issued revolvers.

The animation, which was uploaded on YouTube on April 14, was launched as a promotion for a video game Titanic Honor & Glory, which is currently being created. The video has been viewed almost 3 million times on YouTube, with many people commenting that they watched the whole 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Just before the ship fully sinks at 2:20 a.m., the animation depicts the Titanic breaking in half as passengers scream in the background. The ship was just four days into its maiden voyage when it struck an iceberg April 14, 1912, and sank during the early morning hours of April 15.

A little over fifteen hundred people perished along with the ill-fated ship.
