Avon boy surprised by family & friends with birthday parade

Noah Pruden got a surprise parade to mark his eighth birthday.

AVON, Ohio — It was a pretty quiet day in one Avon neighborhood for much of the afternoon, except for the faint sound of a family soccer game being played on the front lawn of the Pruden’s residence.

Although it seemed like any other day, today was Noah Pruden’s eighth birthday and if you were to ask him how he had hoped to celebrate?

“To have my friends over,” says Noah.

Of course, that wasn’t an option this year so his mother decided to take a different route.

“I was getting kind of sad. You know, he really likes his friends and being out of school, I threw this together a couple of days ago. I just asked some friends and it turned out great,” says Erika Pruden.

Noah adds, “Everybody came in a line and started saying happy birthday.”

Although it wasn’t exactly what Noah envisioned for his 8th birthday, the line of honking cars and signs parading down his street is one he’s likely to remember for years to come.

“It turned out great, I think, right Noah,” says Erika. “Yeah,” says Noah. “He’s going to remember that for a long time,” adds Noah’s dad, Brian.
