CLEVELAND — Happy Sweetest Day!
If you're unfamiliar with the mid-western holiday, here's a quick history lesson.
The holiday originated in 1921 as a way for candy company, C.C. Hartzell, to lift the spirits of Clevelanders. The company distributed more than 20,000 boxes of candy across the region on what was then called the "Sweetest Day of the Year."
The following year, the tradition continued and even gained popularity with television and movies stars promoting the day--and the rest is history.
But to enjoy the present, in honor of the special day, we asked our 3News viewers to share with us images of their sweetie and share with us how they're celebrating the special day.
Our Go! Morning anchors and newlyweds, Jason Frazer and Romney Smith, kicked off our spotlight Sunday morning with a look at a potential date spot and a surprise from the "Kiss Cam" at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
