Howard W. Hanna Jr., founder of real estate agency dies at 101 years old

The real estate empire confirmed the news in a post on social media.

The real estate community is mourning the loss of a pioneer in its field. 

Howard W. Hanna Jr., founder of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services has passed away at the age of 101. 

Hanna Jr. founded the company alongside Anne Freyvogel, beginning with a single office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1957. The company later expanded to become the "4th largest real estate company in the country," according to the company's website.

The real estate empire confirmed the news in a post on social media saying, " It is with our deepest sadness that we share the news of our founder, Mr. Hanna’s passing earlier today, September 25, 2021. At 101 years old, we are fortunate that we had a century with the pillar of our family, a business leader, and a community supporter," the post read.

Today, the company is run by Howard and Anne’s three children, Hoddy, Helen and Annie, and the third generation, Annie Hanna Engel, Hoby Hanna, Kelly Hanna Riley, Duffy Hanna and Dennis Cestra, Jr..
