Love in the Land: The most romantic Valentine's Day spots in Northeast Ohio

Austin Love breaks down the best places in Northeast Ohio for drinks, dinner and dessert on Valentine's Day.

CLEVELAND — Cue the Marvin Gaye and pour the chardonnay, let's set the mood for a romantic Valentines Day evening out with your main squeeze.

For appetizers and drinks, Society Lounge on East 4th in downtown Cleveland is a perfect place to kick off your night.

"Nothing says romance like Society Lounge," says owner Joseph Fredrickson.

Some of the best bartenders in the city are behind the bar mixing great cocktails. On Valentine's Day, they are stepping it up a notch with special cocktails and appetizers to set the vibe.

Next is the main event: Dinner! If you are looking to go all out, then Fleming's in Woodmere is your spot. Their motto: Go big or go home. You can certainly do that as they are offering a $1,000 dinner for two. It features a 6 oz filet, lobster tail and a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne.

If you don't want to go quite that big, they are also offering a $500 and $350 dinner for two option, or you can also order off the regular menu.

Hopefully you saved room for dessert because no one does sweets quite like the Chocolate Bar on Euclid Ave in Cleveland. With five pages of desserts featured on their menu, there is bound to be something to satisfy your sweet tooth with this lineup: Belgian chocolate mousse cake, Oreo mud cake and salted caramel chocolate martinis.

Finally, are you single looking to get away from all of the love-sick couples? Society Lounge is hosting an Anti-Valentine's Day happy hour from 5:30-8 p.m. on Valentine's Day. The following day, 3 Palms Pizzeria in Crocker Park is having Broken Heart Karaoke starting at 9 p.m. Love songs only!
