CLEVELAND — *Editor's Note: The video in the player above is from a previous report.
Over the years, the city of Cleveland has become a hub for talented artists. From murals and banners to canvases and hand-made crafts, the avenues for artists are plentiful.
And one of those artists, Stina Aleah, is stepping into a lane of her own with the opening of her art studio and gallery this month.
Stina Aleah is bringing her unique oil paintings to the city's Edgewater neighborhood with a storefront located at 11115 Detroit Avenue. Aleah plans to host a grand opening on Saturday, May 15 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The event will feature an official ribbon cutting, free gifts for the first 20 visitors and refreshments. Masks are required at the event and social distancing will be enforced.
Aleah began her art career in 2005 after suffering an injury during a track meet in high school. Having her world turned upside down, Aleah turned to art as an outlet. From that point forward, she dedicated her time to learning the craft and teaching herself how to "draw what her mind was seeing and how to visually express her feelings."
In 2015, made the decision to focus solely on oil-based paintings. Since then, she's collaborated with major corporations, television series, celebrities and more.
