SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — Any conversation about best Christmas movies has to include Home Alone.
The 1990 John Hughes classic starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern provides us with not only memorable imagery of suburban Chicago during the holidays, but also countless classic scenes and lines ("Keep the change, ya filthy animal!"). And of course, you can't forget the slapstick humor that would make Larry, Curly, and Moe blush.
But while most of us may love Home Alone, none of us may take it to the level of Amy and Steve Porter: The Shaker Heights couple recently hosted their own Home Alone-themed party, and if you didn't know any better you might think you were indeed at the McAllisters'!
Many guests came dressed as Harry and Marv, complete with iron burns, feathers, and crow bars (though no sign of tarantulas).
Amy and Steve were themselves dressed as a piece of pizza and the infamous pizza boy (with a genuine Little Nero's jacket). We can confirm neither got a lousy tip.
One guest even came as Buzz's girlfriend. ("Woof!")
Around the house, paint cans floated above the stairs...
...a bountiful meal adorned the dining room table (despite missing the blessed microwave macaroni and cheese)...
...and a toy train circled around with a life-sized cardboard cutout of an NBA star. This time, LeBron James played the part of Michael Jordan.
From Amy and Steve and all of us to you, "Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!"
