CLEVELAND — Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer.
Pools open, grills are fired up and kids are ready for summer break.
Cleveland is going to be a happening spot this summer, with a full line-up of fun events set to take place. We picked three big events to highlight on your calendar. Learn more about them below, and in the video above.
MLB All-Star Game
Baseball's biggest stage is coming to Progressive Field. The Cleveland Indians will host the 2019 MLB All-Star Game, meaning athletes, fans and celebrities will be paying a visit to our city.
The game itself takes place July 9, but there is a full lineup of other fun events beforehand, including the Futures Game, Home Run Derby, Celebrity Softball Game and the Play Ball Park.

Tall Ships Festival
The Tall Ships set sail into the North Coast Harbor this July to pay tribute to Cleveland's maritime history. Ten ships will visit Cleveland's lakefront as part of the 2019 Cleveland Tall Ships Festival. Visitors will have a chance to explore the ships, set sail on them and learn about their history while also enjoying food and live entertainment during the three-day festival.

Cleveland Zoo Asian Lantern Festival
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is resurrecting its popular Asian Lantern Festival again this summer.
The Asian Lantern Festival, which is an after-hours event featuring hundreds of illuminated lanterns. The festival is bringing all new lantern displays this year including a walk-through 100-foot-long shark tunnel, a 30-foot-tall giant panda, interactive moon swings and stepping stones and an expansive display of Chinese pagodas.
