African Safari Wildlife Park's walk-thru safari, other popular attractions reopening for 'extended weekends'

You can also take advantage of discounted tickets this weekend for up to $16 off per guest at the Port Clinton animal park.

PORT CLINTON, Ohio — The weather is getting warmer in Northeast Ohio. And that means its time for more of African Safari Wildlife Park's attractions to open up for all to enjoy.

The Port Clinton animal park will start its "Extended Weekends" this Saturday and Sunday. That means that the park's Walk-Thru Safari -- featuring kangaroos, warthogs, porcupines, lemurs, macaws, and more than a dozen other species -- will reopen for the season. 

Also back at the park will be other popular attractions, including camel rides, tortoise feedings, and educational animal shows. 

African Safari Wildlife Park's "Extended Weekends" will run every Saturday and Sunday from now through Memorial Day, when the park will offer its full slate of attractions daily for the duration of the summer season.

Guests can also take advantage of discounted tickets this weekend for up to $16 off per guest. You can purchase your discounted tickets here through Sunday evening. 

African Safari Wildlife Park's Drive-Thru Safari, featuring zebras, bison, llamas, alpacas, elk, exotic cattle, emus and more, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last car will be admitted at 4 p.m.  

The park has also experienced a baby boom so far this year. African Safari's animal care staff have greeted several baby animals this season. The list includes four bison, three alpacas, and one llama.
