CLEARWATER, Fla. — A sergeant on patrol in Clearwater jumped into action and saved an elderly, blind and deaf dog that fell into a canal.
Body camera footage shows Sergeant Mahoney using a pole to grab the dog and lift her out of the water on Island Estates in October, according to a Facebook post from the police department.
The poor dog was struggling to stay afloat and in danger of being swept out into the Gulf of Mexico.
The sergeant was able to bring the exhausted dog to shore where her grateful owner was waiting.
