MENTOR, Ohio — Lake Humane Society is asking for donations to help with the care of a dog named Tank.

Tank is a pit bull mix who came into the shelter from an animal cruelty investigation.

Upon investigation, officials found that Tank was part of a dog fighting ring.

He has a badly injured eye which may have to be removed.

He also has a swollen and infected leg and bite marks all over his body.

Lake Humane shelter associates describe Tank as a sweet dog who enjoys being around people.

They think Tank is about five years old.

While waiting for surgery next week, he is being treated for his injuries and once healed, he will be available for adoption.

The shelter is asking for donations to their Angel Fund.

The Angel Fund was set up in 2007 when a stray German Shepard later named Angel was found in bad shape after being hit by a car.

Since the Angel Fund was established, many animals have benefited from the generosity of donors.

The fund helps all adoptable pets at the shelter get the medical care that is needed.

To make a donation for Tank, please visit the Lake Humane's website at lakehumane.org.
