PHOENIX — A formerly stray pup that was lured into a car with a donut was later surrendered to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control not because he was destructive, but because he was "large and knocked some things over."

The dog, named Gus Bus, is now looking for a family who won't mind his large size and maybe even help him shed a few pounds, according to the shelter.

It appears Gus Bus was adopted after this story first ran, but unfortunately, he was returned to the shelter, according to the shelter's website.

Mr. Bus is a Border Collie mix who is around 4 years old. The staff mentioned his personality is "calm, gentle, affectionate," noting he sits on command and seems to be potty trained.

Gus Bus is available at Maricopa County's west animal shelter. You can find more information about Gus by clicking here.
