Return of the 'Rally Possum'? Possum seen outside Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium prior to Cleveland Browns-New York Jets matchup

In a throwback to 2018, a possum was seen scurrying around outside of the stadium in Canton prior to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game

CANTON, Ohio — Could this be déjà vu?

Prior to the start of Thursday night's Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton between the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, our photojournalist Craig Roberson spotted a possum scurrying just outside of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

So what's the big deal?

You might remember back to just five short years ago when the Browns played host to the very same Jets in a nationally televised Thursday night game. It wasn't just another game. The Browns at that time were sporting a 19-game winless streak. In fact, the team had gone an mind-boggling 635 days since their last victory.

Enter the "Rally Possum."

The possum made an appearance at Cleveland Browns Stadium and went viral. Meanwhile, the Browns rallied to end that long winless streak. Social media had a field day.

And my personal favorite (and still active, by the way), the Browns Rally Possum Twitter account!

We'll see if lightning strikes twice. In the meantime, enjoy the game and a new season of Browns football!
