This week, in partnership with the Autism Society of America, Cedar Point is making it a little easier for families with autistic children to enjoy themselves.

The park is celebrating Autism Awareness Week, and has made the public aware of the many sensory-friendly options it has. Director of Communications Tony Clark says officials want to help guests "navigate the park efficiently."

Of particular note is the new sensory room added to the FrontierTown First Aid station earlier this year, featuring a quiet space, sensory tools and soft colors, and special seating. Families can also receive a "sensory pack" with headphones, fidget toys, communication cards and weighted lap blankets.

The park notes there are several other quiet spaces, and sensory-friendly activities include Charlie Brown's Funtime Frolics, Snoopy's Sing-a-Long, PEANUTS Block Party, and much more. Officials also stress the availability of gluten-free food options, and also has a list of attractions that may not be best for those sensitive to strobe lighting effects.
