CLEVELAND — Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland is welcoming back an old friend.

Reverend Marvin McMickle will act as interim pastor at the Antioch Baptist Church Cleveland, starting May 3, after their current pastor accepted a new role at a church in Virginia.

McMickle, who has a Doctorate of Philosophy from Case Western Reserve University and currently sits on the board of trustees for Cleveland State University, made the announcement today via Facebook.

Most recently, McMickle has served at Colgate Divinity School as the President and Director of the Doctor of Ministry Programs, but before that, the Reverend was known around Cleveland for his involvement in the local NAACP chapter and also worked as foremen for the Grand Jury of Cuyahoga County.

McMickle says that he will be pre-taping his sermons to keep parishioners safe from COVID-19 and they will be available on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. on the church’s website.
