CLEVELAND — It is Valentine’s Day, which means a day when we are surrounded by constant reminders of love -- and for some people, it's a reminder of what might be missing in their life.
For those who are going through divorce or a recent end to a relationship, this Mom Squad is for you.
3News' Maureen Kyle talks with Dr. Neeta Bhushan, a mental health expert and author of the new book That Sucked. Now What? She talks about what she did the Valentine’s Day after her divorce.
“Quite a few years ago I went to Bali,” says Bhushan, “and now, mind you, nobody needs to go to Bali to do this, but I decided to marry myself. It was on the southern tip of the island, facing kind of the Indian Ocean, and this marked the promise to myself that I would always put my needs in this container first, and I would always remember my truth. I would always remember my voice. I would always remember that, if I wanted certain characteristics in a person, that I needed to be those characteristics.”
In this episode, Bhushan also talks about the importance of surrounding yourself with your closest friends on holidays like Valentine’s Day (Galantine’s Day is real!)
