CLEVELAND — University Hospitals is hosting its second annual Parent Bereavement Programs Remembrance Walk for families who have experienced the loss of a child.
The free, one-mile walk will happen at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Saturday, July 20. Same day registration starts at 8 a.m., before the walk begins at 9:15 a.m.
The event is open to all parents, family members, friends and UH staff members to come together to remember any child who has passed away.
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., "Legacy Building" activities will be located in the Palava Hut at the zoo. Activities include opportunities to make a fabric square in memory of a loss child to be included in the 2024 Remembrance Quilt and a scrapbook page for the annual scrapbook. All materials will be provided at the event.
The no-cost registration includes a wristband for each person older than 2 years old, which also provides all day admission to the Zoo and Rainforest after the walk.
In order to participate in the walk, all must be present and registered by 9 a.m.
