AVON, Ohio — After more than 13 years, Bubba’s-Q restaurant on Center Road in Avon has closed its doors for good.

“Thank you Cleveland!” owner Al “Bubba” Baker posted on Facebook Monday as he announced the restaurant's closure.

Baker did not provide a reason behind the closure.

"We are so grateful for your support over the past 13+ years," he continued.

Baker, who once played for the Cleveland Browns, got his barbecue in the national spotlight during an appearance on Shark Tank in 2013. His boneless, microwaveable ribs wowed the panel of investors -- including Daymond John, who bought into the company.

“You can continue to enjoy your favorite Bubba’s-Q BBQ items delivered frozen to your door with our family’s recipes, or shop your local grocery store,” Baker said.

The reaction to his post was somber.

- “I remember your first day open (proud to be customer #2), Sue Schreiner wrote on Facebook. “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be there for your last. Looking forward to still enjoying those deboned baby back ribs, but it won’t be the same.”

- “So sad to see this,” Rebecca Keller wrote. “Hope this means focus for better with you and your family. We will miss seeing you all when we came in. Sending you and your family all the best. Thank you.”

- “Best barbecue I’ve ever had this side of the Mississippi,” Ken Resch wrote.

- “So sad to hear,” Angela Sanchez posted. “We loved your restaurant for all 13 years and we’ll miss you. Thanks for all you’ve done for the community, and for introducing us to your recipes. I’ll continue to enjoy your quality products at home!”
