CLEVELAND — At long last, Bojangles is finally, finally coming to Northeast Ohio.
The legendary North Carolina-based chicken and biscuits chain has announced its intentions to open 10 new restaurants across the region. It's all part of the company's attempts to expand its presence in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, including its first-ever foray into the Buckeye State.
Bojangles previously disclosed in 2017 that they were exploring "seeking experienced, motivated multi-unit franchise owners to spearhead the brand's growth" into Ohio. According to a release from the business, the franchise owner in Ohio will be Chris Maggiore's Magg Family Holdings, which owns and operates four Jerzee's Sports Grille locations in Canton, Green, and Lorain as well as M Bar.
Other Bojangles stores will be coming to the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas. Chief Growth Officer José Rosa released the following statement:
"Our team is proud of what we’ve been able to achieve during the first quarter, but this is just the beginning for us in 2022. We are privileged to welcome new operators to Bojangles and look forward to their success. We recognize the integral role that our franchisees play, which is why we’ve prioritized an unparalleled support system for all multi-unit operators that partner with us."
Previously, Bojangles struck a deal to bring 15 restaurants to the Columbus area, although none of those locations have opened yet. The company has not yet given specifics on where the Northeast Ohio spots will be.
