Customers camp out ahead of Chick-fil-A grand opening in Solon

The first 100 people through the door on Thursday morning will receive a one-year supply of meals from Chick-Fil-A

SOLON, Ohio — A new Chick-fil-A  is opening in Northeast Ohio.

The city of Solon will open its first Chick-fil-A restaurant in the 6100 block of Som Center Road on Thursday, September 5.

Ahead of the grand opening, more than 50 customers camped out in the parking lot starting on Wednesday evening. But their camping won’t be in vain. Owner Chris Aey is awarding the first 100 guests in line with a 1-year supply of meals.

Not surprisingly, when our cameras stopped by the restaurant just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, there was a line of customers braving the night.

As of 11:40 p.m., there were less than 10 spots available in line to be the first 100 people through the door.

Guests who are opting to stay for the night are being treated by Chick-fil-A to food, entertainment, prizes and a block party to pass the time.

The new restaurant is set to open at 6:30 a.m. and will bring more than 100 jobs to the area.
