CLEVELAND — Ohio has no shortage of breweries, but beer drinkers in the Buckeye state certainly have their favorites.
According to a study by House Method, two Cleveland breweries are among the state's five most popular breweries.
Ohio's rankings were as follows:
- Rhinegeist Brewery, Cincinnati
- MadTree Brewery, Cincinnati
- Great Lakes Brewing Co., Cleveland
- Platform Beer Co., Cleveland
- Land-Grant Brewing Co., Columbus
The craft beer industry generated more than $27.6 billion in 2018. House Method also determined the 150 most popular breweries in the U.S. by compiling data from each brewery's number of Facebook followers, number of Instagram followers, Yelp score and number of Yelp reviews. More than 2,200 breweries were analyzed.
New Belgium Brewing Co. ranked the No. 1 most popular brewery in the U.S., followed by Boston Beer Co. and Goose Island Brewery. Just two Ohio breweries made the list, as Rhinegeist ranked 44th and MadTree ranked 135th overall.
