The Cleveland Cavaliers announced that Taste of Black Cleveland: The Food Showcase 4.0 is returning for the first time since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A partnership between the NBA, Hennessy, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland NAACP, The Real Black Friday and Aramark will bring the event to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Thursday, Aug. 18 from 6-11:30 p.m.
Tickets for the celebration are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. The price of tickets for the full experience is $85, which includes access to food and drink tasting from more than 20 Northeast Ohio Black chefs and six local Black mixologists.
Ticket holders for the full experience will have chances to win prizes and will receive a vote in the contest for the top participant as well as a ticket to a Cleveland Cavaliers game during the 2022-2023 season.
General admission tickets are also available for $45. With this ticket, attendees will receive buffet-style appetizers, a ticket to a 2022-2023 Cleveland Cavaliers game and a chance to win prizes.
All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Black chefs/owners to cover the costs of participating in the event. Money will also benefit the Cleveland NAACP and the Cavaliers Community Foundation.
“The much-anticipated event welcomes the top Black chefs/owners of local Cleveland restaurants, food trucks and catering businesses for a night of good eats and cultural celebration,” said Cleveland Cavaliers officials in a media release. “Chefs will prepare their signature dishes for guests to sample and vote on with prizes awarded to the winning participants. Local Black mixologists and musicians will also provide drinks and entertainment for the night. The mixologists will be competing for the People’s Choice Drink of the Night presented by Hennessy."
