CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is hosting another drive-thru food distribution Thursday, June 4, from 2-5 p.m. in the muni lot downtown.
Distribution of goods will take place rain or shine. The Cleveland Police Department and Ohio National Guard will be assisting with traffic control.
"We continue to implement safety measures for our staff, volunteers and clients to ensure that this event runs smoothly and achieves its purpose -- safely get food to families, seniors and individuals who need it," officials said in a press release.
Everybody is encouraged to pre-register for the food distribution at WeFeedCLE.org. Those who register will be given a number to bring and display in their car window, which officials say helps with the check-in process. You can also call the Food Bank Help Center at 216-738-2067 for any additional help.
“This will be a drive-thru process only and you will not need to leave your vehicle for any reason,” officials said. “You MUST be in a vehicle to receive food. Due to safety concerns, we are REQUIRING that your trunk is empty. Food will only be placed in your trunk.”
No walk-up clients will be permitted.
Officials say these restrictions will help minimize personal contact.
