AVON, Ohio — It started as a social media prank on April Fools’ Day. Now, the CurderBurger has become a reality.
Culver’s is unleashing the special CurderBurger menu item in a very limited capacity on Friday in celebration of National Cheese Curd Day.
So what is the CurderBurger? It’s one of the fast food chain’s iconic ButterBurgers topped with an extra large cheese curd patty.
3News’ Austin Love stopped by the Culver’s restaurant in Avon to get the first taste test of the CurderBurger. His reaction was priceless.
“My life is changed right now,” Austin Love said. “Look at the oozing out of the cheese right now, guys. I’m losing my mind right now. Being from Northern Illinois, having grown up going to Wisconsin all the time, I live for cheese curds.”
He said the burger made his Midwestern taste buds explode.
“I feel like my Wisconsin accent might be coming out here pretty soon,” he added.
Culver’s original post about the CurderBurger back on April 1 generated more than 6,400 shares, 7,500 comments and 14,000 reactions.
Culver’s, which has opened a handful of restaurants throughout Northeast Ohio in recent years, is best known for their ButterBurgers, cheese curds and frozen custard.
“We use only fresh, never frozen beef, seared on a grill after you order and served on a lightly buttered, toasted bun,” Culver’s explains. “Add real Wisconsin cheddar and you’ll know why we wouldn’t change a thing.”
