CLEVELAND β Here's some news sure to stir up a holiday debate!
Great Lakes Brewing Company has announced its iconic Christmas Ale will be available in cans as well as bottles this season. The legendary beer will be sold in 12-ounce packs of 12 (to go with the regular six and 12-packs of bottles), and marks the first time the brewery has sold the ale in the aluminum packaging since the concoction made its debut in 1992.
"As if the cans themselves werenβt reason enough to celebrate, we are thrilled to share our new Christmas Ale artwork, illustrated by Sam Hadley," Great Lakes said in a statement. "Each can is fully 'gift-wrapped' with a beautiful winter scene depicting our iconic train car cozily nestled on a frosted windowsill."
Great Lakes is set to tap its Christmas Ale this Thursday (albeit with a reduced crowd due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and bottles and cans of the stuff will be available for sale Friday at the brewery's gift shop. Distribution to local and national markets begins Monday.
